Who is Lindsay Davis?

Lindsay Brooke Davis is a NYC-based actress, writer, dancer/choreographer, singer and fitness instructor. She has over 25 New York theater, film, tv and modeling credits and was seen most recently on ComedyCentral.com and Z-Rock as Tatyana the Yogi (Season 1, Episode 2). Recent theatrical credits include Theater for the New City and The Duplex Theatre. She is also an AFAA-certified Group Fitness Instructor and teaches intenSati (www.satilife.com) at Equinox Fitness. Her athletic background includes soccer, for which she garnered a nomination for High School All-American and played at the Collegiate Division 1 level. By day, Lindsay is the Executive Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer and 3 SVP's at the BBC America channel in New York. Lindsay is also a freelance journalist with a focus on arts and culture. Her writing has appeared in New York Magazine, Focus Fine Art Photography Magazine and NYOpinion.com. She holds a BA in English from Cornell University and began intensive theater arts training after college with the following teachers: Bruce Ornstein, Tom Todoroff, Mari Lyn Henry, Karen Kohlhaas, Lisa Regina, Patricia Moreno, Erika Shannon, Sheri Sanders and Tom Burke.

The Examined Stories

Today I read Byron Katie's "Loving What Is", which is a book about examining thoughts, particularly the ones which cause suffering because they are rooted in falsehoods and assumptions or simply cause very negative emotional reactions. Suffering in this case is feeling pain and disconnected from a loving compassionate state. Her method -- appropos to today's holiday, Labor Day -- is something she calls"The Work".
